Six years ago, I joined the largest private ophthalmology group practice in the California Bay Area, Spectrum Eye Physicians, in the new position of Administrative Coordinator. At that time I was a child-free young professional, dedicated to advancing my career in the world of eye care. But soon after I joined, my personal life took an unexpected turn: I became a mother of four in a short two years. While navigating the new role of motherhood, the challenges of the COVID era, and the addition of two new clinic locations, I felt I had no time to focus on my goal of becoming a COE.
