Aimee Meyer will never forget the 9-year-old girl with the rare, life-threatening condition known as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, whom she met while working in an ophthalmology office. Meyer became close with the girl and her mother during the multiple surgeries and follow-ups that were required for several years.
