The current nursing shortage is unlike anything we have seen and threatens our healthcare system. Studies suggest the U.S. needs 500,000 new RNs by 2027 and predicts a global shortage of 13 million nurses by 2030.1 At its core, the shortage is a result of an aging workforce, fewer nurses in training, and the sweeping impact of the pandemic.
