Starting a new job is stressful. On their first day at a new practice, new hires are meeting new colleagues, exploring a new building, filling out important paperwork, and diving into hands-on training. Change is often hard, so it’s important to make a new hire’s first day as smooth as possible. A bad or unnecessarily stressful first day can set the tone for someone’s tenure at your practice, and disorganized or incomplete onboarding processes can exacerbate an adjusting colleague’s anxieties and contribute to staff turnover.
