Optical services have become more prevalent in ophthalmology practices for various reasons, among them the cash-pay rather than insurance-dependent nature of most of the business. However, managing optical has its own unique issues. This article reviews three Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that allow managers to run the optical efficiently.
