All too often, opticians and technicians isolate themselves from one another; in some cases, they may even consider themselves adversaries. Regardless of their differences, opticians and technicians housed in the same practice must work as a cohesive unit to provide outstanding patient care. That’s not to say that as administrators and managers we should expect instant camaraderie among the different departments. Rather, we are responsible for integrating our optical departments into the fold of practice operations and encouraging their acceptance by medical staff. But where to begin?
