Dan Chambers

Bio: Dan Chambers received his MBA in management and health systems from the University of Connecticut in 1975 & has been in health care administration for over 36 years, with experience ranging from Hospital administration, Surgery Center development and management, Physician Management Corporations (PRG as Sr. Vice President) with 140 clinics in 26 states, and various Physician Clinics. Dan has served as a senior manager or consultant to a number of ophthalmic organizations throughout the country. Of note, Dan has been the Executive Director and strategically merged entities for several large entities, such as Dr. Berkeley's Eye Center (and formerly Mann-Berkeley) in Houston, TX and the Barnet-Dulaney-Perkins Eye Center in Phoenix, AZ. Currently, Dan has been the Executive Director for the Key-Whitman Eye Center in Dallas, TX for the past 11 years, with management responsibilities for the Financial, Operational / HR and Marketing aspects of the business. The Key-Whitman Eye Center now spans the DFW Metroplex, and has 13 doctors, 3 clinics, 2 ASCs and 1 Lasik Center with 120 employees. The Clinics and ASC have now implemented EMR. Mr. Chambers also is a Board Member of Mednetworx, Inc., an I.T. hosting company offering Alscripts, Centricity, Medevolve, MedFlow, and Aprima software. Dan also has been a paid speaker and consultant for Alcon, Marco and B&L primarily on the topics of strategic planning, cataract & refractive services. Dan presently serves as the Chairman of the 2012 COE Preparation Course for the ASOA, also has served on the Physician Management Communications Committee of the ASOA/ASCRS organization, and advising editor for Administrative Eyecare magazine.
