As of July 27, 2022, the coronavirus pandemic had taken the lives of over 1,023,991 Americans1 and more than 6 million people worldwide.2 But while deaths are the most tragic aspect of the disease, it’s also ushered in myriad changes to nearly every aspect of society: from how we teach our children, to how we attend religious gatherings, and even how we shop for food. The healthcare industry is no exception, and indeed was (and continues to be) “ground zero” for all the ways that the coronavirus has transformed our lives.
