In the healthcare space, creativity is often pushed aside in favor of established processes and procedures. While practice administrators must maintain a measured, controlled environment to run a successful practice, an atmosphere that feeds on rules and efficiencies can inadvertently discourage staff from offering up creative solutions. In some cases, employees who have thought of ways to improve the business may remain silent for fear of retribution or judgment. This is an unfortunate scenario in which neither the business nor the employee prospers. Knowing this, practice administrators must strive to create a work environment that encourages and welcomes new ideas.
