As I write this, my kids need attention, the dog needs a bath, and I need to go to the grocery store. I recognize, but often do not truly appreciate, that this great country affords me and my family many freedoms. My kids go to school. My husband owns a business. I have the pleasure and opportunity to work in the field of healthcare. I have the opportunity to work, period. I have the privilege of having a professional identity.
