The currently voluntary CMS Ambulatory Surgery Center Quality Reporting (ASCQR) measure ASC-15 Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (OAS  AHPS) survey becomes mandatory in 2025. Noncompliant facilities will be subject to a 2% reduction in their 2027 annual Medicare payment update. The purpose of the OAS CAHPS is to provide a standardized survey instrument to measure the patient experience in Medicare certified ASCs.
