I recently had the opportunity to use Locum Tenens (LT) in the practice I manage. As we started the process, I had to dust off everything I knew or could put my hands on about LT. It has been around for more than 100 years and it feels as though the published information on how to use it hasn’t changed much in the same time period. Every so often one of the Medicare Administrative Contractors publishes a Locum Tenens FAQ, but the rules and interpretation haven’t changed much, except for a recent name change.
