After more than 40 years in the eye field, I am amazed by the fact that some patients see 20/200, saying they see fine, while others see 20/20-2, complaining bitterly about their vision. I lie somewhere in between. I knew something was wrong with my eyes. I had had a problem with my right eye for years. Questionable Retrobulbar Neuritis was the diagnosis in my chart. My right eye had never corrected to a crisp 20/20 since my early thirties. Nothing terrible but always there.
