Ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) are highly regulated and subject to ongoing scrutiny and enforcement. Managing compliance is essential to maintaining state licensure, Medicare certification, and accreditation. Unfortunately, it seems there is little time for anything beyond patient care in a fast-paced, high-volume ophthalmic ASC, but maintaining compliance must be done. Adhering to established regulations and standards is not an optional activity.
