Although some ophthalmology practices view anything less than full-time practice by an owner as unacceptable, more and more practices now take a different view, likely because a majority of practice owners are themselves older. Whatever the reason, ophthalmology practices have begun to recognize that their more senior owners can continue to make valuable contributions, albeit on a reduced schedule.
