The largest cost for most businesses is labor, making up 70% of a business’s spending. It would make sense, then, that investing in staff training and development would be a top priority. Employee development creates increased job satisfaction, improves retention rates, keeps staff satisfied and engaged, and helps mold future leaders. Sadly, 75% of managers surveyed were dissatisfied with their companies’ learning and development function and 70% of employees reported that they don’t have mastery of the skills they need to do their jobs.
