The quest to find the most effective way to manage the technician department has been a challenge most of my career. It has often felt like looking for gold—elusive and yet worth the search. My goal at every conference is to find even the smallest nugget of wisdom—something that will make scheduling easier, increase efficiency and reduce labor costs, or help diagnose issues at the end of a day. Despite all my efforts, however, I never seemed to find the “treasure.” That all changed one day a few years ago.
