Litigation: A (Mostly) Avoidable Nightmare

According to a 2017 survey, 55% of U.S. physicians have been sued. The data is more grim if you look at surgeons and obstetrics/gynecology: a startling 85% rate of litigation. Ophthalmologists are also at the high end of litigation risk. Statistically, an ophthalmologist will get sued at least once during their career.2 Despite these ugly statistics, being sued is not inevitable, and you can help your physician avoid litigation.
