New ASOA Board Member and Vice President

The ASOA Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Janna Mullaney as a new Member-at-Large Board of Directors member.  Janna is replacing Linda Georgian who has stepped down to accept a position outside the ophthalmology field. Linda has served on either the NBCOE or ASOA Boards of Directors since 2009.  Current ASOA Board member William (Bill) Koch, COE, CPC, COA will assume the ASOA Vice President position being vacated by Linda.  We wish Linda success in her new endeavor.

Janna Mullaney serves as Chief Operating Officer at Katzen Eye Group/Eyecare  Services Partners. In her current role, she oversees the clinical department,  front office, human resources, marketing, optical and aesthetics division as well as serving as the project manager for the Electronic Practice Management System and Electronic Health Records. Additionally, Janna has direct oversight of the Ambulatory Surgery Center, Dulaney Eye Institute. Over the past 29 years, Janna has earned certification in Healthcare Marketing, Ophthalmic Assistant and Ophthalmic Technician as well as completing a program for Certified Professional Coding and Ophthalmic Coding Specialist.  Most recently, she earned her COE designation and Ophthalmic Scribe Certification.

Since 2004, Janna has served as an EHR and Practice Consultant for over 35 group practices across the country.  In her capacity as practice consultant, she has helped practices select, implement and develop their practice management and electronic health records and contributed to their ongoing practice success.  She also serves as a resource for NextGen Healthcare Information Systems as an expert in ophthalmology management and clinical workflow.

Janna and Bill will assume their positions immediately.
