Current COEs
ASOA extends its congratulations to those who have earned the Certified Ophthalmic Executive (COE) designation.  To view a listing of those individuals who are currently in good standing (have passed the exam and are up-to-date with their continuing education credits and renewal fees) click here.

Renewing Your COE
At the conclusion of each three-year cycle, COE’s must be able to provide proof of at least 50 contact clock hours of acceptable continuing education.  If they do not have the required continuing education hours, they may choose to again take and pass the COE examination within 12 months prior to the expiration date.  COEs may submit up to 15 hours in Category C (reading, publishing, presentations).  Written proof of achieving continuing education requirements is required upon request by the NBCOE.

Each year ten percent of each expiration group is randomly audited.  Only these COEs must submit copies of documentation for the required continuing proficiency requirements.  All certificants will sign a statement attesting to the completion of the required continuing education proficiency requirements.  This statement must be returned to the NBCOE to complete the recertification process.

Individuals renewing their designation should complete the Recertification Application PDF and the Agreement of Certification PDF and submit it to the NBCOE office, c/o ASOA, 4000 Legato Road, Suite 700, Fairfax, VA 22033.

Submit a Question for the Exam
Click here to submit a question to the NBCOE for possible inclusion on the COE Exam. Download a Copy Word Doc of the item writing guidelines.  Submit two questions, have the NBCOE approve the questions, and earn 1 COE credit.
